Puppy lovers 2008-06-16
Last night I visited my favorite site, news section on http://rotten.com. I do that often, it relaxes me with out-of-the box news and fortifies my faith in humanity and its worthiness.
That website is not for those squeamish, you now. I think you should be warned before you go there. So here you have been. And now, back to my last night data digging. An interesting article:
YouTube.com removed the video for violating the Web site's terms of use.
Officials did not specify the role that each man played in the incident, which received international attention after a video of it appeared on YouTube.com March 3.
Lance Cpl. David Motari is being processed for removal for his role, the Marine Corps said, and Sgt. Crismarvin Banez Encarnacion also has been punished.
The video shows someone throwing a black-and-white puppy off a rocky cliff. The dog makes a yelping sound as it flies through the air.
"That's mean. That was mean," someone off-camera is heard saying.
YouTube removed the video about a day after it was posted, "due to terms of use violation," the site said.
The Marines were quick to condemn the video when it surfaced, calling it "shocking and deplorable."
Marine officials said the disciplinary action followed a thorough investigation, according to a statement that the Marine Corps Base Hawaii released Wednesday.
"The actions seen in the Internet video are contrary to the high standards we expect of every Marine and will not be tolerated," the statement said.
Oh boy! A delightful little story.
For those that are visually impaired (illiterate or just plain dumb-ass lazy to read it yourself) I'll sum it up (not because I like you, but because I don't). Two US marines in Iraq tossed a cute little puppy over a cliff and some other dumbass taped it and posted on YouTube - the place of Family Fun Fun videos.
Now, there have been some nasty "international attention" as article says. I mean, come on ladies, USMC are playing hard ball there leveling populated city quarters with air support (humans included), they *should* be given some slack but killing *puppies*? That's just plain ol' mean (as a voice on the tape says). They should not have done it. Puppies are no-go. Them evil marines should be disciplined.
Well I am glad for that "international" outcry for puppies safety in a place of war and occupation. Puppies should be protected. A world would be much better place if they all took care of them in places like Auschwitz or Eastern front `41 (Russians appearantly didn't share that sentiment, they packed poor little puppies then with explosives and trained to run under Nazi tanks - those damn cruel Russians).
Well, I am glad too YouTube decided to remove video from site, as the article say, because of "usage term violation". I guess it was discousting video, I could not bare to watch it even if I wanted to. So, to keep fun spirits up for evening, I just downloaded couple of other videos from YouTube, using magical words "Apache 30mm terrorists Iraq".
Disclaimer: No puppies were harmed in making of this video. It is safe to play it to your kids.
Hell, they even didn't check my age so I guess it's safe for any kid to watch this stuff. God bless YouTube usage terms and filtering of contents. Sure, you can see on this videos some guys got literally blown to little pieces, up close and personal from a safe distance using high explosive grenades, but hey. Those are terrorists, not puppies. Not local guys defending from enemy occupational forces.
The sharpest quote is of US marine officials which said that behavior of marines was "horrifying" and that is contrary to the "high standards" they expect of every marine. Guess those PR guys were still in junior high during the 'Nam and all the fun with shooting & dope in the jungle.
Oh well, That little article is so full of concentrated BS in every sentience that they must have used some high-compression toilet tool to make it. Truly, rotten.com excels in collecting this gems of human social engineering.
Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to open anybody eyes or change anything. Most of all I don't even think of judging anybody involved in this story, nor the marines, their slick lying BS officials or anybody there. War is hell, for humans, why not for puppies too.
Its the people that watch stuff like this and then get all discousted and wined up, those double standard "international attention" cute little animal rights pussies I can't stand. Either you are a stone killer or you are a puppy lover. If you try to be both you'll end up exclusively being hypocrite bastard.
And I bet most of these puppy loving assholes cheer loudly every time when their's country enemy bites the bullet.
